This evening marked the second time in a week that rain poured down during an evening commute. While other bicycle commuters fretted over dirtying their clothes while splashing through monsoon puddles on a road bike, the cruiser in me knew there was nothing to worry about.

The fenders covering my fat tires would protect me from dirt, muck and water splashing around. Since a few rain pellets have never bothered me, I was home in time for dinner while a colleague stayed behind at the office to wait it out.

Didn’t want any mud on his designer button down or something.

So if you needed another reason to love your cruiser, consider the practical nature of the fender. Not to mention they look pretty great, too.
